The Wayne DuPage Horse Trials organizing committee is thrilled with the response from the July One Day
Horse Trials and is looking forward to its AUGUST 15 One Day Horse Trials. Competitors, spectators,
volunteers, and show officials hailed the one day format, on site stabling, the layout of the various components
of the show (competition areas, parking, stabling etc.) and the fact that the competition was held entirely in one
venue (Pratts’ Wayne Woods Forest Preserve Wayne, IL).
In keeping with the grand tradition of the Chicago Bulls, the Wayne DuPage Horse Trials is looking to “repeat”
the success of the July HT in Aug. Among the many “repeaters” is on site stabling. The large number of stalls
used during the July show confirms the decision by show management to provide that convenience for those
wishing to take advantage of it. However, there is still no mandate for stabling and competitors wishing to do
so are welcome to work out of their trailers without a grounds fee! Competitors intending to use a stall should
take advantage of the lower price for stabling of only $50.00 which will be in effect through July 21. The cost
of using a stall will increase for stall requests made after July 21. (See Omni listing for details)
FEATHER CREEK EQUESTRIAN, a brand new, premier boarding/training facility located in Elgin, IL will
again sponsor the complimentary show buffet at 3:00 SATURDAY for everyone on the grounds. Come ride
your horse, walk your course and then relax with food and drink goodies as you visit with friends.
Prize money will be presented at all levels Starter, Beginner Novice, Novice, Training and Preliminary (see
Omnibus listing for details). Prizes and ribbons will be awarded as well.
Shannon Brinkman, who works with US EVENTING magazine as their cover photographer will also be among
the “repeaters” at the Wayne DuPage August One Day. She photographs and contributes images of the top
horse events around the country to many equine magazines for covers, articles, sponsors (such as Cosequin,
Dover, Kerrits, Charles Owen, Merial equine), advertising, websites & individuals. She is sought by the top
events for her artistic sport horse images. Shannon will post her Wayne DuPage photos on her website,
www.shannonbrinkman.com about 10 days after the competition.
Remember, this will be the final August Wayne DuPage Horse Trials, and your last chance to qualify in
Area IV for the 2010 AEC.
